Image Project AiSee introduces a groundbreaking assistive device that transforms how people with visual impairments (PVI) access information in their daily lives. Through extensive consultation with PVI users and caretakers, we identified significant limitations in existing technologies, including issues with accuracy, efficiency, cost, and social acceptance. AiSee is a sleek, headband-shaped wearable device that integrates a forward-facing camera with powerful processing capabilities and cutting-edge AI technology. The device functions as an intelligent visual companion that’s always ready to assist. Users simply tap the side of the device to capture an image, which is then analyzed by specialized AI algorithms to identify objects, colors, shapes, and text in the scene.

What sets AiSee apart is its interactive communication system. Information is conveyed through a bone-conduction speaker positioned at the temple, allowing users to maintain their natural hearing ability unlike traditional earbuds. After capturing an image, users can engage in natural conversation with the AI agent, asking follow-up questions about their surroundings as if speaking with a helpful colleague. This innovative approach to assistive technology empowers individuals with visual impairments to navigate their environment with greater independence and confidence, while addressing the limitations of current solutions through sustainable, user-friendly design.
